9 Week Update

Okay, so technically I'm something like 9w1d, but I'm not really great with keeping up on that. So.

Last week, we had our first midwife appointment. It was--to be honest--really boring. They didn't do an ultrasound because I'd already had one, and had another scheduled for later that week. And no heartbeat, because Sprout is still too small to catch with a doppler. So basically, I got weighed, did some lab work, and got a pap smear. Yay!

And Thursday we graduated from the RE. Basically, everything is right on track (Sprout actually had a growth spurt and is a little bigger than expected based on when I ovulated, measuring just a day behind the LMP measurements. Way to go, little buddy!). Heart rate was hovering right around 180. Seriously? That's got to be the best sound I've ever heard.

Sprout, side view. I know it looks like a face, but really it's head, the part that looks like an eye is actually an arm, followed by a leg, tail (which still makes me giggle), and then off to the side you can kind of see the umbilical cord and the beginnings of the placenta. Pretty awesome.

And a bunch of other shots. Sprout was kind of wiggly, so we got several different angles. BoyWonder missed this appointment, so my mom went with me. But when I showed BoyWonder the pictures he decided I'm actually carrying a gerbil and not a human. It would be funny if it the thought didn't freak me out just a little bit.

So... That's all I've got for now. We're in the middle of decorating our bedroom, and that's been eating up most of my time and energy. I'll probably post pictures once it's done, but it seems weird because our bedroom was so ugly before that I don't have 'before' pictures. It looks really nice now, though. It actually feels like grown-ups live in there. Just in time to have our house taken over with kid stuff. lol.

Love this update! I'm so glad that Sprout is doing good and measuring ahead. Keep growing baby!

And I can't wait to see room pictures. :)
