Honestly, I tried to talk BoyWonder into not making me go back at all, but apparently that just won't work. But I'm okay with being off for another six weeks.
I've talked before about trying to make money doing natural health-type stuff. BoyWonder, bless his poor, anti-hippie heart, is pretty opposed to my doing this. Well, not so much the doing of it, but the fact that I want to spend money on classes so I don't look like a fraud or a snake-oil-salesperson, and the fact that I don't mind only making money here and there until I get a decent client base.
Yesterday, though, I made my first sale. And of course, it was the bug bite blend. Granted, it was sold to a good friend of mine, and I probably didn't make more than a dollar or so of profit, after you figure the bottle cost a little over $2.00, and the oils and such probably came to a dollar or more. But it's my first sale, regardless. And with luck, my dear friend will be helped tremendously and will spread the word about my amazing potion.
I've been trying to make my business plans, but anyone who knows me also knows that my brain is kind of scattered most of the time, and often my plans fall through.
Everything is on hold right now because I'm working out some different blends and products. I'm also waiting to see if my Father gets me the Adobe software I'm needing to get a logo designed, and start making labels, once I get my packaging figured out.
Once I get those details worked out, I'm going to go ahead and try my hand at running an Etsy store. I'd also like to try to talk the local health food stores into carrying at least the bug bite potion, because it's amazing stuff and I really think it would sell.
I thought I had other, better things to say, but I'm drawing a blank now.
I guess I'll try again later. This is the downside of doing lots of reading and video-game playing: I have great ideas while I'm doing other things, and promptly forget them when I start a new post. Hooray for ADHD.
