Surgery is scheduled for Friday morning. We check in at 6 AM, surgery is scheduled for eight.
I've been trying to cook some healthy food to freeze, but that's pretty slow-going, and I'm hoping BoyWonder decides to clean the house a little bit (see what a great wife I am? lol), but I suppose he'll have the entire weekend after surgery to do that.
I'm taking over a week off, because for one thing, none of the staff at the clinic could tell me how long I'd be out of commission, and another thing--I still had 48 hours of vacation time left. I figured I might as well use it.
I'm trying to find lots of things to do, since I'm guessing I probably won't want to leave the house. I've read some horror stories about looking nine months pregnant (which would be the height of irony), about still being very uncomfortable two weeks out from surgery, and all kinds of other super awesome things, so I'm nervous.
So, I've got a ton of books I haven't even started reading all ready to go on the Kindle, which is good since I can easily read a book or two a day if I have nothing else to do. I'm working on my Netflix queue, and several crochet projects. Oh, and my video games. I think I can handle this.
For now, I'm trying to stay busy so I don't worry about anything that might be lurking in my uterus.
Quick update on baby Derrick (who will, from here on out, be referred to as godBaby):
They removed his feeding tube last week. He's been taking bottles and is eating like a champ. They thought he was going to start transitioning to go home soon, but he's been having apnea episodes at night, so they've pushed his graduation date back a little while so he can grow some more. He's over four pounds now, and is slowly becoming more and more alert.
I love him. He's so tiny and precious, and amazing.
So, I'll be back over the weekend, for an early State of the Uterus Address, assuming the doctor actually tells me what's going on before our follow-up appointment in November. Until then... Think happy, non-endometriosis thoughts for me and my defective ute!
